I haven't done any specials or mini-sessions in a while and with March being my birthday month I've decided it would be the perfect time!
In honor of my 33rd birthday any sessions booked during the month of March will be 33% off. Since $217.75 is strange number, and probably one I'll never remember, I'm going to drop it even lower to $200! A session lasts typically one hour to an hour and a half, AND you get all your session images on CD.

Capture Rochester details!

I've been meaning to update forever on the Capture Rochester party...of course...but just kept putting it off.

We were over an hour late (for good reason, Nina's team placed FIRST at the RIT cheer competition!!) and had missed the introductions and awards.

Here were the following Capture Rochester details:

*7,628 participants in contest

*25,917 photos entered

*1,501,278 votes cast

*249 photos in the book

*24 prize winners

Not only was I one of the 24 prize winners but I had FOUR images in the book!!

This image won the award for 'MOST LOVED' photo and had almost a full 2 page spread! GO MEE!!!

The book is amazing and is filled with extremely amazing photos. So many beautiful Rochester landscape photos...really makes me wish I had the eye for that type of stuff. For now I guess I'll just stick to being content with the people images I take. It's a wonderful feeling when others recognize and admire your work. Makes me feel like I have a right to be doing what I am doing. Sometimes being self taught I doubt myself and wish I had the 'real' education to back it up.

Every once in a while people will ask how I did in that 'Capture Rochester' coffee table book contest. I really hadn't paid much attention to it since the contest was 3 months long. I received an email last night that made me smile from ear to ear.

Congratulations Heather, one of your photos has won a prize in the Capture Rochester contest!

We'd like to extend to you a personal invitation to the Capture Rochester release party where you will be the star! We're keeping a lid on which prize each photo won, but we wanted to get in touch with you to see if you will be able to make it to the party. So cool right?!! Unfortunately Nina's last cheer competition is this Saturday at RIT. The schedule says the girls go on at 10:15 and will be finished by 11:45. Who knows how on schedule they will be, maybe I can fly right to the Eastman house. Do I REALLY want to go all alone though? Anyone want to join me?

Another year, Another win!

I told myself I wasn't going to enter any photos in the 2008 Town of Irondequoit photo contest. My first entry 3 years ago gave me a 3rd place win, my second entry gave me a second place win and my third entry gave me a first AND second place win!!

Winners will be awarded at the Town Board meeting on November 18th.

Cuts for a Cause

Cuts for a Cause is an afternoon-long event held at Tangles Hair Designers and Spa on Culver Road in Irondequoit. My best friend, Nicole Palmiere, her brother Michael and their parents, Gary and Diane, who are the owners of Tangles alongside the 13 other stylists will be benefiting cancer research today. All money earned and donated goes directly to Cancer research at Golisano Children's Hospital and the Wilmot Cancer Center.
Besides free hair cuts with a $10 minimum donation there will be hots and hamburgers for sale, clowns, balloons, a guest guitarist and emcee, and firetrucks and police equipment on display (thanks to their neighbor Ridge-Culver fire department and the Irondequoit Police Department). $5 raffle tickets will lead to many many fabulous prizes. Show your support and come on out for a good cause!! (you may even win a Heather Cicione Photography gift Certificate!)
